Waxhead Sun Defense is a family created and run business, creating sunscreen, skincare, and supplements that are safe for every member of your family, as well as the environment. Why? Because humans were created to thrive in the sun.

Who are Waxhead?
A family run business from Florida, Waxhead products are healthy for even the youngest members of your family. Upon realizing that the sun products they used were loaded with chemicals and encouraged deep tissue damage from harmful UV rays, the family set out to make something new. Enter Waxhead, a line of physical sunscreen that is ethical, sustainable, and safe for families as well as the oceans. This mineral sunscreen line uses Zinc Oxide and other safe ingredients that are the safest on the planet.
"We are driven by one belief. Humans were made to thrive in the sun. So we create products that restore the ancient balance of man and sun, that make life in the sun the way it was meant to be.”
Why Waxhead?
There are two types of sunscreens; chemical and physical.
Chemical sunscreens protect your skin from the sun by absorbing harmful UV rays by seeping into your skin. These sunscreens use active ingredients such as oxybenzone, avobenzone, octinoxate, and octisalate, known collectively as petrochemicals. The scary part? Petrochemicals are created by extracting and processing chemicals from crude oil. According to the EWG, these petrochemicals mess up your body's endocrine and hormonal activity, which causes an array of harmful effects, especially on pregnant women on babies. Petrochemicals are known to mimic estrogen in the body, which can cause cancers and puberty at an early age. They damage DNA over time, as the harmful chemicals build up in blood and fat deposits. They additionally don't biodegrade, congregating in ocean sediments and even water supplies. This stresses out and damages coral, as well as feminizes fish.
Physical Sunscreens use active ingredients such as Zinc Oxide, what Waxhead uses in theirs. Zinc Oxide sits on top of the skin, instead of absorbing it into it. While on top of the skin, the Zinc Oxide absorbs the UV rays into the Zinc Oxide itself, where the UV rays are then converted into heat energy and are then disposed of away from the skin. Nothing seeps into your skin with physical sunscreens, which means nothing is entering your body that you wouldn't want too. In addition, physical sunscreen causes no effect on marine life or the oceans. It's safe for you, and the oceans.
