Sustainability
FAIR TRADE: Sustainability is and has always been Natura cosmetics priority. They get their ingredients from communities of Brazil, where they pay these workers through fair trade policies. They have contributed to the revenues of over 2000 Brazilian farmers, effecting over 8500 people. They use the information from the farmers to make sure they get the best ingredients for their products and collect these ingredients in the most ethical ways possible. This preserves the farmer's way of living and brings these products to the consumers. Natura has also been certified in "sourcing with respect" by the Union for Ethical Biotrade. These practices have also preserved over 18000 square kilometers of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil as a result.
REDUCE WASTE: Natura Cosmetics uses 100% recycled plastic or green plastic in its packaging. Green plastic is created from sugarcane, which is fully recyclable and catches carbon instead of creating it. They also provide refills for their skincare products, which are available on their website. These refills generate less waste and are economical and cheap.
LOVED BY THE CLIMATE: Since 2007, all Natura products have been carbon neutral. This means that they monitor all the carbon emissions for their company. They are constantly looking for ways to monitor and make their packaging, production, and logistics, even better. Impressively, for each of those, they plant a tree of other environmental practices, in order to equalize the effect of the carbon on the environment.
NO ANIMAL TESTING HERE: Natura cosmetics is leaping bunny approved, which means they implement cruelty-free standards. They are continually monitoring their suppliers to ensure that each and every supplier is also leaping bunny approved.
